Prevent Sending Friends Steady Streams of Twitter Sewage.

Most business are instructed by some “speaker” or “trainer” to use RSS Feeds to “speed things up” without teaching first, how to use Twitter. There is a good argument to speed things up, but the only thing your speeding up by posting tweets to Facebook is how quickly your followers will un-follow.

Please don’t misunderstand us, we are not saying Twitter doesn’t have it’s place or purpose and that you should not use RSS Feeds… just don’t use the Twitter to Facebook Feed!

 ”I am to lazy to log into Facebook, so I set up this feed so I can send you random junk”

As a result of posting to Facebook, you will most likely cause duplicate, triplicate (or more) of the same post ending up elsewhere because somewhere down the road you will want to hook up your Facebook posts and Twitter tweets to another account such as Linkedin.

The Result of doing this will be your twitter tweet now go to LinkedIn and so does your Facebook post… now both appear, usually right under another, looking like it is coming from a spammer even lessening the chances of anyone wanting to click your valuable offer.

After 5 years of tweeting tweets, have we heard everything there is to say about Twitter results?

Our last few post have been about Twitter and it is Twitter’s 5 year anniversary, (Launched July, 2006) so we thought the timing was right to ask, Is Twitter even worth the time or are you getting great results? What is your opinion about Twitter? Are we missing something by not having a Twitter page or are we simply not using our twittering time tweeting timely tweets correctly if we are not getting results.

The more you use Twitter, the more you will hear the same sort of questions or maybe you may have the same questions yourself. Questions like, “How do I use Twitter” and “Is Twitter really worth it”?

Everyone seems to have a different answer. Those answers, of course, are based on different user experiences with Twitter.

Naturally, peoples results and opinions will vary greatly depending on what “niche” they use Twitter for, how they use or don’t use Twitter.

When you are setting up an email marketing program and/or an affiliate program, be sure that you start out with the one that you are going use for as long as you promoting your business. So many people that we have spoken to have started out with one and then they realize that there may be a better system.

Problem here is once you have started to collect emails, it is very difficult to transfer those emails to another. In most cases you will have to have people re-sign up with your new ecommerce providor. This could result in loosing many subscribers, or having to use two or more systems which will take up even more of your time. So getting it right the first time is very important.

If you could only have one of the following, FaceBook, Twitter or Linkedin, what Social Networking site would you use to promote your business?

Are you using Social Media sites to attract new visitors to your websites? If so, how is it working for you? We have heard all sides of the “Using Social Media to Sell” story, some people just don’t believe it works, some people are even afraid to use it, others think Social Media is a fad and then there are some that will even tell you that Social Media and Selling don’t mix. We believe it’s all in the way you use it, or in other words, all in the delivery.

Looking at our Google Analytics for yesterday, we couldn’t help but notice two of our main referrals were FaceBook and Twitter, Google was #3. Is Social Media Working for you? We can say with-out a shadow of a doubt that is is working for us and we hope you can say the same. Our FaceBook referrals have at least twice as many page views than our twitter referrals though, so are Twitter referrals not as good? It was because of these figures we thought we would ask your opinion of lead quality and your overall opinion of three of the bigger Social Networking Sites.

Yes, it is somewhat comprehensive and with a series of simultaneous calculations requiring only fractions of a second, your website is given a page rank.

Why is PageRank so important? Without a good PageRank, there is a good chance that you won’t be found. With the amount of websites out there, Google doesn’t even have the capacity, nor the need to index them all. Google in 2005 claimed to have 69.5% of all websites indexed, so having a good PageRank not only helps you get noticed by Google, but on several other search engines as well.

There are several ways to improve your page rank. A hyperlink to your website from another website that has a high PageRank for example is a great way to get your website a vote of support. Social Networking sites like Twitter and Facebook are also starting to have a huge effect on the amount of traffic one may receive to their websites and it is becoming more and more apparent that both Twitter and FaceBook is having an impact on your visibility by popularity.

So with so many ways to get your website ranked by Google, are there any that are better than others? Does posting to a popular blog with a high page rank give you as much “Google Juice” as posting a Tweet with a backlink to your site, or is it better to have a 450 word article posted on a popular article site?
