Hey Mike
I like this forum, it has a lot of neat bells and whistles.
Just curious what you like to use for keyword research? I was looking at market samurai, and traffic travis, just wondering if you have a preference.
thanks, I appreciate the tips!

Hi Larry,
Thanks for your question! I have used Market Samari, have not tried the others, however, I still prefer do it the old fashioned way.
Before I post an article, I use https://adwords.google.com/ to research keyword competitiveness and use Google live search with my keyphrase, (typically the title of the article) to see how relative and popular the search is. When typing your keyphrase, Google will give you the most popular searches as you type.
Once you have the "title" (or keyphrase) you want, use it in your title and "Sprinkle" those keywords that are in your title in the first paragraph and variations of within the article and really, that is all I do.
One that I am pretty proud of is "twitter rss feed" (http://www.google.com/search?q…..r+rss+feed) Out of 1.4 billion possible results we drift in the top 3 positions.
Hope that helps and if you have any other questions please let me know.
Thanks again for posting your question!
To your success!

Thanks for the tips, Mike
Pretty impressive, you are the top dog right now for that search!
And I'm sure that is a pretty competitive keyword.
Do the results from market samurai and the google tool usually coincide? or are there differences at times?

Hi Larry,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but I went to open my Market Samurai yesterday so I can use it again and then I guess because I haven't used it in so long, it made me make an update. After I updated it, I kept getting errors when I tried to save a project. I played with it a little bit, but as of this point, I have given up trying.
I could be wrong, but I think the "old fashioned" way is not only just as good as any program you can buy, plus after spending a good part of yesterday trying to get it to work, the old fashioned way seems to be a lot quicker :)
So, let's move on to the next question, lol
Make it a great day!

Thanks Mike
I've heard there are issues with Market Samurai that it can be a resource hog on your computer.
Something to be said about the old-fashioned way, lol.
Take care

Just a little FYI, got this email yesterday from Market Samurai -
"A few days ago, Google made a major change to their service which has resulted in large areas of Market Samurai's functionality being temporarily broken. You can read about the details of the change, what we're doing about it, and some of the longer-term implications of the change by reading our blog post. Our current estimate is that we'll have the vast majority of Market Samurai's functionality working again within the next few days. The Google changes necessitate some radical changes to the Rank Tracker module, and in particular, the price we can offer it for into the future. Please read the blog post to understand the reason, scope and impact of these changes. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the situation. Rest assured we're working around the clock to get this functionality restored." Warm Regards,
Eugene Ware

thanks Mike,
I guess that is a problem if you rely on other software. As soon as google, or twitter, or whoever, changes their API, then the developers have to all tweak the code on the other side. Which is another reason to use the manual methods.
