We hear it all the time, "The money is in the list". Email newsletter marketing may seem like old school to some, but sometimes old school is the best school when it comes to customer engagement.
Building your email marketing list should be a company priority.
Yes, the online world of marketing has changed significantly. A newsletter marketing plan may seem like a burden rather than a successful marketing effort to some, but why?
Reason is pretty simple to me. Not long ago, publishing was a one-way street. You wrote a newsletter article, sent it to your readers, and they either opened the email and read it or they ignored it, leaving the email unopened or deleted. End of story.
Thanks to social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, it’s now seems easier than it has ever been to get people to see your information. If your readers like what you publish, they’ll share it on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn, sending you hundreds or even thousands of new visitors for each article you publish…sounds simple enough… but is it?
A good newsletter will have a consistent theme with consistent marketing in the right places of that email newsletter. The idea here is, people may not click a link on the first email, maybe not even the second, but eventually as people begin to get comfortable seeing the same, consistent images/links, they will eventually click it, whether it be an affiliate link, or a direct offer.
Almost all of us have online blogs and/or websites, why not use that for your Newsletter? Post something just for your newsletter and also get tons of Social Media shares from it.
Email newsletters typically get a 20% or more open rate who will take a glance at the content. . Or On average an email newsletter with 60,000 subscribers is the equivalent of a blog with 600,000 RSS subscribers, that’s 1,000% better engagement.
Blog + Email = The Ultimate Engagement Platform
Email marketing still trumps social media marketing when it comes to driving traffic, but there are there are three main reasons people don't email market.
- "I don't have the time for a newsletter"
- "I don't have the content for a newsletter "
- "Newsletter are not cost-effective"
Let's take each one of those and I will show you why any of those are just an excuse.
-
"I don't have the time"
There are many ways to create a newsletter, but an effective one is automated. In between the automation you can blast specific and timely. more targeted campaigns.
Setting up the email newsletter campaign is the toughest part, after your newsletter marketing campaign is created it pretty much maintains itself. Setting up newsletter one, two, three, four etc. can all be done on automation. Set up your monthly newsletter to go out in automation and if any of your newsletters get out dated, simply go back in and edit that one newsletter. That simple.
What this means is after 12 months of creating a newsletter, you have 1 full year of automation that will send out your newsletter to your followers on a specific date with no further effort from you.

"I don't have the content for a Newsletter"
Can't buy this one.. not even for a minute, content is everywhere!
Bog Content: How many blog posts do you post a month? Use that as the content for you email marketing. Take a snippet of your article, add it to your newsletter, link it to your websites article. If you are short of content, the SEO-Alien offers 500 word articles for any niche!
Holidays: This is so simple, but often ignored. In addition to your newsletter or simply by itself, this is a great way to keep in touch with your followers and to "remind them that you are in business".
There are at least 10 major US holidays and several states even have their own holidays. What this does is give you 10 more opportunities throughout the year to reach out to your email list. Create specific holiday templates and have those emails set to go out on a specific date of the year that are on that day of or the day before.

"Newsletters are not cost-effective"
Nope, simply not true. If you feel this way, you are using the wrong platform. The email marketing platform we are using is not Constant Contact or Mailchimp, they are pricey! Our platform is as low as $0.30 per 1000 emails!!
This year, (2015) the SEO-Alien is offering our own email newsletter marketing campaign that we have been developing and improving upon for year. Several of our current customers signed up for it and they are all raving about it!
What we do for you is set up your entire newsletter campaign! Using your branding, your email template will be specifically unique for your business!
